EAST PEORIA, Ill. - The Kirkwood Eagles completed an impressive performance at the Illinois Central Classic Sunday afternoon by topping No.8 Illinois Central, 59-41, in the championship game of the eight-team holiday tournament.

Kianna Jacobs collected a double-double for the seventh-ranked Eagles (13-3) with 15 points and 11 rebounds and made the all-tournament team. Alexis Fitzpatrick also made the all-tournament team for Kirkwood.

Kirkwood began the tournament Friday with a 75-60 victory over Cincinnati State. The Eagles drubbed top-ranked Lake Michigan, 61-41, in the semifinals Saturday and won all three of their games by an average of 17.7 points.

Illinois Central hit only 12 of 62 shots for 19.4 percent from the field on its home floor.

Bianca Dufelmeier made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points for Kirkwood. She also had six assists. Whitney Henderson contributed nine points and seven rebounds.

Helena Rodriguez led Illinois Central with 12 points.

Kirkwood defeated Illinois Central for the second time in 12 days. The Eagles topped Illinois Central, 72-52, in East Peoria on Dec. 18.

Kirkwood will host NIACC this Saturday at 1 p.m.
