Marshalltown third baseman Erica White had some advice for her teammates Wednesday afternoon after she struck out against Kirkwood ace Amber Logemann.

"Don't go after the high one," White told her friends after futilely swinging at strike three.

She also could have told her teammates to lay off the other pitches as well - high, low and in-between. It really didn't matter.

Logemann pitched a total of seven innings in Wednesday's doubleheader and struck out 20 batters in two games as the seventh-ranked Eagles swept Marshalltown, 10-0 and 5-0, in junior college softball.

The freshman phenom from Earlham did not allow a hit all day.

Logemann pitched a perfect game in the opener and fanned 14 of the 15 batters she faced in the five-inning affair. She tossed two innings in relief in the nightcap and struck out six more Tigers, but proved she's human by walking a batter.

Logemann has struck out 129 batters in 63 1/3 innings this season for Kirkwood (22-3).

Hayley Krack and Krysta Tutsch hit three-run homers for the Eagles in the first game. Kristen Winter had two hits and Shy Saladino drove in two runs in the nightcap.

Sam Belz (8-0, 0.98 ERA) pitched the first five innings of the second game. She allowed one hit and struck out six batters. Logemann (8-3, 0.89 ERA) pitched the last two innings and finished the one-hitter.

Kirkwood has hit 45 home runs in 25 games and has a team batting average of .341. The Eagles have a team ERA of 1.18.
