No.4 Eagles knock off SCC, 76-51

KEOKUK - The Kirkwood Eagles came alive in the second half Saturday and defeated Southeastern, 76-51, in a junior college women's basketball game in Keokuk.

The fourth-ranked Eagles fell behind by 14 points in the first half and trailed the struggling Blackhawks at intermission, 29-26, but Kirkwood outscored the hosts 50-22 in the second half to win easily.

Ariel Sneed scored 17 points for Kirkwood (16-3, 5-1). Danielle Woolfolk and Zoe Kelso added 12 points apiece.

De'Janique Nicholas scored 16 points for Southeastern (5-13, 1-4).

KIRKWOOD (76): Sneed 5 5-7 17, Woolfolk 5 0-0 12, Tuttle 3 0-0 7, Silva 2 0-1 5, Fallon 1 0-0 3, Polite 2 1-4 6, Larson 2 0-0 6, Haynes 2 0-0 4, Kelso 6 0-3 12, Clark 1 2-3 4. Totals 29 8-18 76.

SOUTHEASTERN (51): Nicholas 6 4-9 16, Bryan 3 1-2 9, Grays 3 0-1 6, Conner 0 4-6 4, Tailele-Latu 0 1-4 1, Soy 1 0-0 2, Nikitina 3 1-1 7, Gray 3 0-0 6. Totals 19 11-23 51.
