Kirkwood men nudged by No.12 DMACC

BOONE - The Kirkwood Eagles had two chances in the final seconds to tie their game against DMACC and force overtime Saturday, but they missed both shots and lost a conference game to the Bears in Boone 85-83.

Joe Tagarelli missed the first chance to tie the game and Taylor Olson missed a tip-in as the game slipped away.

Olson scored 19 points to lead Kirkwood (15-8, 6-4). Tagarelli scored 17, Ajay Lawton had 16 and JC Fuller 15.

Brandon Nazione scored 17 points for the 12th-ranked DMACC Bears (21-4, 7-2).

KIRKWOOD (83): Lawton 6 0-1 16, Lassen 0 0-0 0, Fuller 6 2-5 15, Currie 3 2-2 8, Weeks 1 0-0 2, Olson 3 10-12 19, Batie-Gaddy 2 0-0 4, Tagarelli 8 1-3 17, Uwadiae 1 0-0 2. Totals 30 15-23 83.

DMACC (85): Viser 3 4-4 13, Sampson 1 4-5 7, Williams 2 2-3 7, Guenther 1 0-0 3, Fuqua 3 0-0 6, Hurdle 7 2-4 16, Nazione 6 4-6 17, Steeve 2 7-8 12, Defreitas 1 2-2 4. Totals 26 25-32 85.
