Linn-Mar High School sophomore Stephanie Jenks has been named a 2013 All-American by USA Triathlon in the Junior Elite division for girls 16 to 19 years old.

Jenks joined Tamara Gordon of Rapid City, S.D., and Devon Dabney of Atlanta on the All-America first team. Only three girls were honored.

Jenks represented the United States in two international triathlons last year.

This past Saturday, Jenks swept all three distance races at the Mizzou/Big River Indoor Series Championships in Columbia, Mo. She won the 800 in 2:19.70, claimed the mile in 4:58.84 and captured the 3200 in 10:47.48.

Amber Decker of Linn-Mar finished second behind Jenks in the 800 in 2:20.35. Decker placed eighth in the 400 in 1:01.87.

Jenks skipped the high school cross country season last fall to concentrate on triathlons and compete for the Linn-Mar swim team, but she has decided to run for the Linn-Mar track team this spring.
