RoughRiders trimmed by Sioux City

SIOUX CITY - The Sioux City Musketeers scored three unanswered goals in the third period Saturday night and tripped the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 3-1, before 4,014 fans at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City.

The Musketeers lead the Western Conference of the USHL with a 16-6-1 record for 33 points. The RoughRiders lead the Eastern Conference with a 20-4 mark for 40 points.

Casey Jerry gave the RoughRiders a 1-0 lead early in the second period with an assist from Hugh McGing, but that was all the scoring for the visitors.

Robert Carpenter tied the game for Sioux City with a power-play goal in the third period. Max Kalter gave the Musketeers a 2-1 lead. The third goal came with 29 seconds left into an empty net.
