Martensen sparks No.4 Kirkwood women

Anna Martensen collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds Saturday as the fourth-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team bounced Iowa Lakes, 76-51, in a conference game at Johnson Hall.

Cassidy Clark scored 12 points for the Eagles, who won their 11th straight contest. Tyra Polite contributed 10 points and seven assists. Kirsten Larson hit three 3-pointers and scored nine points.

Martensen, making her second start for Kirkwood, made 6-of-7 shots from the field. She has been subbing for All-American Ariel Sneed, who is sidelined with a knee injury.

Aliyah Gipson led Iowa Lakes (5-12) with 23 points.

 

Kirkwood raised its records to 15-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Eagles held a commanding 33-15 lead at halftime.
