No. 15 Indians knock off S. Tama

TAMA - Freshman Chloe Rice poured in 27 points Friday as the MarionĀ Indians celebrated their climb into the state rankings with a 66-44 conquest of South Tama in a Wamac Conference game on the road.

Marion jumped into the 15th spot in Class 4A this week.

Caitlyn Smith hit three 3-pointers and contributed 13 points for Marion (12-4).

Tieranny Keahna scored 13 points for South Tama (5-10).

MARION (66): Fuller 0 0-0 0, Peyton 0 0-0 0, Rice 7 12-14 27, Smith 5 0-0 13, Sahm 3 2-2 8, Dunne 1 0-0 2, Mohr 2 1-5 5, Laube 3 2-2 9, Sade 0 0-0 0, Jordan 0 2-2 2. Totals 21 19-25 66.
