No. 9 Lions rally past Wahlert

DUBUQUE - The Linn-Mar Lions dug themselves out of a 19-point hole in the third period Friday night and surged past Dubuque Wahlert, 68-60, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys basketball game in Dubuque.

Linn-Mar trailed 36-21 at halftime and fell even further behind before roaring back.

Nic Uhlir led the Lions with 20 points. Jordan Bohannon and Jordan Brandt scored 14 points apiece. Trevor Noble and Lane Halupnik chipped in with eight points apiece.

Linn-Mar (10-3) is ranked No. 9 in Class 4A. Wahlert (6-6) is ranked No. 4 in Class 3A.

Wahlert star Cordell Pemsl did not play due to a knee injury. Pemsl, a 6-foot-8 junior who has committed to Iowa, averages 18.9 points and 9.0 rebounds.

 

LINN-MAR (68): Uhlir 6 6-8 20, Murphy 0 2-2 2, Noble 3 2-5 8, Bohannon 5 4-4 14, Klostermann 0 2-2 2, Tichy 0 0-0 0, Halupnik 2 2-2 8, Schmidt 0 0-0 0, Brandt 4 3-4 14. Totals 20 21-27 68.
