DUBUQUE - The Xavier Saints split a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader with Dubuque Wahlert on Thursday.

Wahlert won the first game, 3-1. Xavier rebounded with a 4-2 victory in the second game.

Connor Frese pitched a five-hitter and got the victory for the Saints in the 4-2 triumph. Max Hammerberg got the final out for a save.

Connor Powers had three hits for Xavier in the victory. Sean Murphy and Bryce Schulte had two hits.

The split left Xavier at 12-17 overall and 8-12 in the conference. Wahlert is 14-13 overall and 10-8 in the league.
