Mount Mercy volleyball wins twice

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Becca Thomson collected 22 kills Saturday as the Mount Mercy women's volleyball team swept two matches at the Avila Tournament in Kansas City.

The Mustangs topped Hannibal-LaGrange, 25-10, 25-10, 25-23, and knocked off Lindenwood-Belleville, 25-15, 28-26, 25-13, to finish the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.

Thomson notched nine kills against Hannibal-LaGrange and had 13 kill shots against Lindenwood-Belleville.

Maddie Bell had 14 kills against Hannibal-LaGrange. Caiti Peterson dished out 30 assists. Lauren Stopko contributed 17 digs. Torie Alexander had five kills. Alyssa Weldon provided four kills and four blocks. Olivia Makinen had four blocks.

Kayla Daggett rolled up 27 assists and had five aces against Lindenwood-Belleville. Weldon had eight kills. Olivia Coe had seven kills. Bell finished with six kills and four blocks. Stopko had 15 digs and Makinen supplied four blocks.

Mount Mercy raised its record to 10-2.
