Wilson nets 32 for No. 5 Eagles

MARSHALLTOWN - Doug Wilson was an unstoppable force for the Kirkwood Eagles again Wednesday night.

Wilson poured in 32 points as the fifth-ranked Eagles topped Marshalltown Community College, 90-82, in a non-conference game in Marshalltown.

Wilson, a 6-foot-7 center from Des Moines, made 14 of 18 shots from the field. He also had six rebounds, three assists, three steals and one blocked shot.

Connor Kasperbauer made three 3-pointers for Kirkwood and finished with 14 points. Luke Appel scored 11 points and Brady Sartorius had 10 points with some clutch free throws. Sartorius also collected five assists.

Kirkwood raised its record to 7-1. Eduardo Lane scored 21 points for Marshalltown, which fell to 6-6 for the campaign.

The Eagles defeated Marshalltown, 84-71, in Cedar Rapids on Nov. 14 to sweep the season series.
