Mullinnix helps No. 7 Eagles triumph

ESTHERVILLE - Haley Mullinnix continued her hot shooting Wednesday night for the Kirkwood Eagles.

Mullinnix canned five 3-pointers and tossed in 15 points as the seventh-ranked Eagles dunked Iowa Lakes, 68-54, in an ICCAC conference game in Estherville.

In her last two games, Mullinnix has connected on 11 of 13 3-pointers in clutch victories over NIACC and Iowa Lakes. She was 6-for-7 against NIACC on Saturday and 5-for-6 against the Lakers.

Kirkwood raised its records to 17-5 overall and 7-0 in the conference. Iowa Lakes fell to 16-4 overall and 4-2 in the league.

The Eagles raced to a 41-20 lead at halftime and enjoyed a 54-30 bulge entering the fourth period.

Ju Gaston scored 11 points and had four assists for Kirkwood. Brianna Mensen contributed 10 points. Mackenzie Jenkins had nine points and  seven rebounds. Anasha Hurst and Natalie Tomaszewski also scored nine points. Mullinnix collected five assists and four rebounds. Paige Bradford had eight rebounds.

Shareece Smith and Safiyer Coleman scored 14 points for Iowa Lakes.
