Mount Mercy baseball drops 2

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Mount Mercy baseball team collected only five hits in chilly weather Saturday and dropped both of its season-opening games in Oklahoma City.

The Mustangs lost their opener to Cumberland University, 12-2, in six innings with the game-time temperature at 34 degrees.

Mount Mercy fell to eighth-ranked Oklahoma City University, 8-0, in the second game on a one-hitter by the winners.

Evan Jackson went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mustangs against Cumberland. Corbin Day also had an RBI for Mount Mercy in that game.
