No. 1 KCC women beat Loras JV

Amara Lipsey tossed in five 3-pointers and scored 17 points Wednesday  night as the top-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team defeated the  Loras junior varsity, 96-54, at Johnson Hall.

The Eagles (7-0) scored 18 straight points in the second quarter and  opened a 54-25 bulge at halftime.

Kemara Watson scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for  Kirkwood. Tatiana Hodges-Johnson posted a double-double with 10 points  and 11 rebounds. Ju Gaston and Delani Harris also scored 10 points.

Ashley Funk popped in 25 points for Loras with five 3-pointers.

LORAS JV (54): Cassidy Maroszek 0-7 0-0 0, Madison Brewster 1-10 2-4  5, Haylee Virden 1-3 1-2 4, Hannah Thiele 2-8 0-0 6, Ashley Funk 8-14  4-4 25, Allie Brownson 2-5 0-0 6, Faith Vincent 0-4 1-2 1, Jadyn  Anderson 0-2 0-0 0, Ryleigh O'Brien 2-7 3-6 7. Totals 16-60 11-18 54.
