Nickelson paces Mount Mercy track

MONMOUTH, Ill. - Luke Nickelson of Mount Mercy captured the high jump  and long jump at the Monmouth College Fighting Scots indoor track meet  Saturday.

Nickelson claimed the high jump at 6 feet, 4 inches and captured the  long jump at 22 feet and one-quarter inch.

Nathan Skala won the 800-meter run for the Mustangs in 2:01.29, Jacob  Blackmon took the 5000 in 15:53.91 and Aaron Golding placed second in  the 800 in 2:01.69 in a tight race with Skala.

Three members of the Mount Mercy women's team claimed titles. Andrea  Ertz won the 800 in 2:17.60, Vanessa Cortes captured the 3000 in  10:30.80 and Rachel Gadient took the high jump at 5 feet and  one-quarter inch. Gadiant placed third in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.32.
