DAVENPORT - The Mount Mercy women's softball team won both of its games at the Ambrose Dome in Davenport Saturday.
The Mustangs defeated Saint Ambrose, 6-2, and blanked Lincoln College, 8-0, in five innings on a two-hitter by Jayna Witzany.
The victories raised the Mustangs to 3-3 for the season.
Hannah Mausser went 3-for-3 with three RBIs with a double, triple and sacrifice fly in the victory over Saint Ambrose. She also scored twice.
Jess Heick was 2-for-3, scored twice and had two stolen bases. Madelyn Irwin pitched all seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits. She struck out five batters and walked only one.
Payton Bruner and Audrey Grove socked home runs for Mount Mercy in the 8-0 victory over Lincoln College. Bruner was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Grove was 2-for-2 with two runs. Heick went 2-for-3 again, making her 4-for-6 for the day.
Witzany struck out six batters with no walks in her two-hitter.
