IOWA FALLS -- Kirkwood scored 52 points in the second half and blew away Ellsworth, 82-37, Tuesday night in women''s junior college basketball.

The Eagles (8-2, 1-0) knocked down 5 of 6 3-pointers in the second half.

Kirkwood led 30-19 at halftime. The Eagles opened the second half with a 38-6 run that blew the game open.

Kiana Jacobs led Kirkwood with 11 points. Lexi Hobbs had 10 and former Xavier prep Krissi Tow tallied nine. Thirteen Eagles broke into the scoring column.

Ellsworth (6-7, 0-1) made only 3 of 17 shots (14 percent) in the second half. Former Jefferson prep Britteny Steffeny had 12 points.

Kirkwood travels to Council Bluffs on Saturday to face Iowa Western (12-0).
