MARSHALLTOWN - The Kirkwood women's basketball team won its seventh straight game Wednesday night with a 77-52 victory over Marshalltown in an ICCAC league contest.

The No.4 Eagles (15-3, 4-0) began the second half with a 15-4 surge to open a commanding 48-25 lead. The margin reached 32 points in the second half before Kirkwood settled for the 25-point win.

Bianca Dufelmeier led the Eagles with 16 points, with 14 of her markers coming in the second half. She also collected five assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Kianna Jacobs finished with a double-double for Kirkwood with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Friday Chuol went 7-for-7 from the field and scored 14 points.

Alexis Fitzpatrick had nine points, nine assists, five steals and four rebounds for the Eagles.

Mady Van Metre led Marshalltown (4-9, 0-3) with 14 points.

Eagle Notes: Sierra Chambers, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Iowa City High, is no longer a member of the team ... Jerica Hawkins, a 5-9 freshman from Decatur, Ill., has a knee injury and will miss the rest of the season.
