Washington's Morgan Barnes and Linn-Mar's AJ Garcia were two of the six Mississippi Valley Conference Athletes of the Week announced Monday.

Barnes was second in the 200 freestyle and third in the 500 freestyle Saturday at the boys' state swimming meet. He helped the Warriors to a fourth place finish.

Garcia won the 215-pound title at the Class 3A wrestling district at Epworth. The Lions won the district crown to earn a berth in next week's dual meet tournament. Garcia (41-4) was one of eight Linn-Mar wrestlers to qualify for this week's state meet.
