The junior college district softball tournament will begin Thursday at the Kirkwood Community College field with three teams participating.

Dawson Community College (Glendive, Mont.) will face Dakota County Technical College (Rosemount, Minn.) in the opening game at 1 p.m.

Kirkwood will face the Game 1 loser at 3 p.m. and the Eagles will play the Game 1 winner at 5 p.m.

The double-elimination tournament will resume Friday at 1 p.m.

Dawson is the Region 9 champion, Kirkwood is the Region 11 champion and Dakota Tech is the Region 13 champion.

The district champion will advance to the national tournament.
