Linn-Mar freshman Jordan Bohannon has been offered a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Northern Iowa, according to several reports on Twitter Tuesday night.
One of the tweets came from Matt Bohannon, who is a member of the UNI basketball team and Jordan's brother.
"Very excited to announce that the little bro got his first offer from UNI tonight!!!," Matt Bohannon reported. "Remember who was there first, bro."
Matt Bohannon's tweet was re-tweeted by Jordan Bohannon. Seth Tuttle, one of Matt Bohannon's teammates at Northern Iowa, also sent a tweet about Jordan Bohannon Tuesday night. So did Linn-Mar basketball and Martin Brothers basketball.
Jordan Bohannon averaged 8.0 points as the starting point guard at Linn-Mar this past season as a freshman. He shot 46 percent from the field, 39.1 percent on 3-pointers and 94.7 percent on free throws (36 of 38).
Jordan Bohannon would become the fourth member of his family to play Division I basketball, if he plays at Northern Iowa or somewhere else in the future. Jason Bohannon played at Wisconsin, Zach Bohannon is currently at Wisconsin and Matt Bohannon is heading into his redshirt sophomore year at Northern Iowa.
