CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Jill Williams collected her 250th victory as head coach of the Kirkwood volleyball team Saturday as the Eagles won four straight matches at the Parkland Tournament.
The seventh-ranked Eagles defeated Jackson College (25-20, 25-12, 25-13) and Illinois Central (25-22, 24-26, 15-25, 25-13, 15-9) Friday on the first day of the tournament.
The Eagles swept Vincennes (25-20, 25-15, 25-9) and Southwestern (25-14, 25-16, 25-17) on Saturday.
Williams has been the head coach at Kirkwood for nine years. The Eagles have a 17-4 record this season.
Heather Poula led Kirkwood with 42 kills in the four matches. Alicen Wintermote had 33 kills, Erin Walker 28, Chelsea Gryp 27 and Payton Hilton 26.
Amber Timmins rolled up 122 assists in the tournament. Wintermote had eight solo blocks, Hilton six and Gryp 4.
Cali Beyer led the Eagles with 53 digs. Walker had 46, Poula 42, Gryp 36 and Timmins 28.
