Schebler belts 2 homers for Lookouts

Cedar Rapids Prairie grad Scott Schebler hit two home runs and drove in four runs Sunday as the Chattanooga Lookouts defeated Birmingham, 4-3, in a Class AA Southern League game in Chattanooga.

Schebler is hitting .275 with 20 homers and 58 RBIs.

RYAN SWEENEY (Xavier), Chicago Cubs, OF: Sweeney went 1-for-4 Sunday with a walk and run scored. He is hitting .237 (40-for-169) with 3 homers and 17 RBIs in 60 games.

SCOTT SCHEBLER (CR Prairie), Chattanooga, OF, Double-A, Southern League (Dodgers): Schebler went 2-for-5 Sunday with his 2 homers and 4 RBIs. He is hitting .275 (109-for-396) with 20 doubles, 12 triples, 20 homers, 58 RBIs and 10 stolen bases in 109 games.

KELLEN SWEENEY (CR Jefferson), Dunedin, IF, Advanced A, Florida State League (Blue Jays): Sweeney has been released by the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He was hitting .222 (8 for 36) with four doubles and an RBI.

CHAD CHRISTENSEN (CR Washington), Kernels, OF/IF, Class A, Midwest League (Twins): Christensen went 1-for-3 Sunday with two walks, a double and run scored. He is hitting .280 (109-for-389) with 19 doubles, 6 triples, 7 homers, 57 RBIs and 25 stolen bases in 101 games.

JON KELLER (Xavier), Frederick, P, Class A, Carolina League (Orioles): Keller (0-0, 8.31) was placed on the 7-Day Disabled List Thursday with a left intercostal strain.

MITCH KELLER (Xavier), Bradenton, P, Rookie, Gulf Coast League (Pirates): Keller (0-0, 2.25) did not pitch Sunday.

ANDREW HANSE (Linn-Mar), Bowling Green, P, Class A, Midwest League: (Tampa Bay): Hanse (0-3, 5.66) did not pitch Sunday.

DAKOTA FREESE (Washington), Athletics, P, Rookie Arizona League (Oakland): Freese has been placed on the 60-day Disabled List and probably will not pitch again until the fall.
