Cedar Rapids Kernels catcher Mitch Garver was named to the Midwest League all-star team Monday, as selected by the league's 16 managers.

Garver was hitting .299 with 15 home runs and 74 RBIs heading into Monday night's game against the Quad Cities River Bandits in Davenport.

Wynton Bernard of West Michigan was named the MVP for the 2014 season. Andre Velazquez of South Bend was named the Prospect of the Year and Mark Johnson of Kane County was tabbed the Manager of the Year.

South Bend and West Michigan both had three members on the squad.
