Marco Fichtner, Hannah Schroeder and Tyler Keith of Mount Mercy University have been named Athletes of the Week by the Midwest Collegiate Conference.

Fichtner, a sophomore from Germany, was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer. He scored one goal against Northwestern and had two goals against Coe as the Mustangs raised their record to 6-1 with a pair of victories. Fichtner has a team-high six goals for Mount Mercy.

Hannah Schroeder, a freshman goalkeeper from Cedar Rapids Washington, was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer. She collected six saves in a 2-1 victory over Northwestern. The Mustangs have a 5-1 record, their best start in school history.

Keith, a senior from Muscatine, finished first out of 80 runners at the Border Battle in La Crosse, Wis., Saturday. His time for the 8K race was exactly 27 minutes.
