WATERLOO - The Linn-Mar volleyball team swept four straight matches Saturday before falling to Wapsie Valley, 25-21, 14-25, 15-11, in the championship round of the Waterloo West Invitational.

The Lions defeated Don Bosco (21-17, 21-13), Central Springs (21-8, 21-7) and Wapsie Valley (21-18, 21-19) in pool play.

Linn-Mar topped Decorah (25-13, 25-16) in the semifinals before Wapsie Valley got revenge against the Lions in the finals.

Ellie Anderson finished the tournament with 66 assists and 22 kills for Linn-Mar. Sarah Renner had 23 kills and 11 blocks. Sami Boekhoff had 20 kills and 13 blocks. Carly Spies had 20 kills. Emilee McGowan collected 57 digs.
