Coe freshman Drew Heitland has been named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week for his performance in a victory over Buena Vista last Saturday.

Heitland, a defensive lineman from Kennedy, posted six tackles (four solo), including three tackles for loss and two sacks in Coe's 33-13 win.

His efforts, which also included a forced fumble, two quarterback hurries and a pass break-up, helped shut down the league's top-rated offense. The Kohawks limited the Beavers to 286 yards, 208 below their league-leading average. It was Heitland's first career start.

Heitland joined Central's Eric Larson as the only two Iowa Conference selections on this week's national team. Heitland was the only freshman selected to the team this week.
