Cedar Valley girls fall in final seconds

CLINTON - The Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team suffered a 45-42 loss to Prince of Peace in the final seconds Tuesday night in Clinton.

Cedar Valley rallied from an eight-point deficit and tied the game, 42-42. The Huskies had the ball with 30 seconds left with a chance to take the lead, but they missed a shot.

Prince of Peace scored the last three points of the game for the victory.

Molly Hembera scored 19 points for Cedar Valley Christian (7-12). Maggie Cach added 11 points for the Huskies.

Miranda Schnier and Krista Atkinson scored 14 points apiece for Prince of Peace (4-15).

 

CEDAR VALLEY (42): Slagle 0 2-2 2, Masterson 1 0-0 2, M. Hembera 7 5-7 19, Fields 0 0-0 0, Cechota 2 1-2 5, Polansky 1 1-3 3, Cach 5 0-2 11, Mafuta 0 0-0 0. Totals 16 9-17 42.

PRINCE OF PEACE (45): Posey 0 0-0 0, Corpuz 1 0-0 2, Schnier 7 0-0 14, Atkinson 4 3-5 14, Divarco 2 2-6 6, Kuehn 3 1-6 7, Campbell 1 0-0 2. Totals 18 6-17 45.
