Dondre Osborne collected 23 points, six rebounds and six assists Saturday as No.11 Mount Mercy clipped William Penn, 91-83, at the Hennessey Recreation Center for its 14th win in a row.

The Mustangs (21-3, 8-0) trailed 40-38 at halftime, but they outscored the Statesmen 30-14 in the first 10 minutes of the second half to shoot into a 68-54 advantage. James Boonstoppel hit three 3-pointers and scored 10 points during the decisive spurt. Kyle Lamaak contributed eight points during the streak.

William Penn rallied and pulled within 74-73 and 78-76, but the Mustangs never relinquished the lead in the Midwest Collegiate Conference game.

Mount Mercy got major contributions from numerous players. Ben Struss scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Lamaak finished with 16 points and seven rebounds. Ian Matos had a big double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Boonstoppel finished with 10.

Alex Schwab poured in 29 points for William Penn (15-10, 4-5). Shane Bosek scored 24 points and Oliver Wells had 16.

The Mustangs belted the Statesmen in bench points 33-7, with Lamaak and Boonstoppel accounting for 26.

There were 10 ties and eight lead changes.
