KCC softball team splits 4 games

ROSEMONT, Minn. - The ninth-ranked Kirkwood softball team finished with a 2-2 record on its trip to Minnesota Friday.

The Eagles lost to Indian Hills (6-5) in their first game on Thursday. They beat Dakota County (13-4), lost to Illinois Central (4-0) and defeated NIACC (10-2) on Friday. The game against Dakota County was finished Friday morning after being suspended in the third inning Thursday night.

The split left Kirkwood with a 4-2 record.

Natalie Clark had two hits against Indian Hills. Chasney Jenkins had two RBIs and two runs.

Jenkins socked two home runs and drove in four runs against Dakota County. Alicia Crivaro, Lexie Biehl and Tara Walls also hit home runs. Crivaro and Biehl had two RBIs. Teagan Toft drove in three runs. Allie Mengler got the victory in relief.

Kirkwood had only one hit in the 4-0 loss to Illinois Central.

Crivaro went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs in the victory over NIACC. Jenkins was 2-for-3. Jasmine Ragusi had a triple and two RBIs. Mallory Neubauer also had two RBIs. Mengler pitched five innings for the victory with 11 strikeouts.
