Marion boys take 2nd in Iowa City

IOWA CITY - Blair Brooks and Colton Forster won individual events Saturday to help the Marion Indians place second at the Bob Brown Invitational track meet in Iowa City.

Brooks claimed the high jump at 6 feet, 4 inches and Forster took the 3200 meter run in 10 minutes, 2.2 seconds.

Anamosa won the team championship with 164.5 points in the eight-team field. Marion nipped Mount Vernon for second place, 105.5 to 105.

Marion received second-place finishes from Skylar Cook in the long jump (20-1 1/2), Jeremy Fopma in the 3200 (10:03.73), Jacob Manderscheid in the 400 (53.98), Brooks in the 110 hurdles (16.99) and Miles Bach in the 1600 (4:52.04). The Indians also finished second in the 4x800 relay (8:42.71) and the shuttle hurdle relay (1:06.00).
