Cedar Rapids Prairie grad Scott Schebler is now just a phone call away from the Major Leagues.

Schebler, 24, has been assigned to the Oklahoma City Dodgers in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League, which means he's just one step away from joining the parent Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League.

Schebler hit .280 with 28 home runs and 73 RBIs in Double-A last year.

The Dodgers picked Schebler in the 26th round of the 2010 draft. He enters his sixth year in the minor leagues with 74 home runs, 290 RBIs and a .279 batting average. He is a two-time all-star and was named the Dodgers' minor league player of the year in 2013.

Oklahoma City opens the season Thursday night at home against Round Rock.
