There are four Metro players in pro baseball this season and the Metro Sports Report will be following them for the entire year.

Ryan Sweeney has been released by the Chicago Cubs and is looking for a new team, so there are no Metro grads in the Major Leagues at this time.

Scott Schebler (Prairie) is playing for the Oklahoma City Dodgers in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. Chad Christensen (Washington) is playing for the Fort Myers Miracle in the High-A Florida State League. Jon Keller (Xavier) is pitching for the Frederick Keys in the High-A Carolina League.

Mitch Keller (Xavier) is expected to play for the Bristol Pirates in the Rookie Appalachian League when that season begins in June.

Andrew Hanse (Linn-Mar) has been released by the Tampa Bay organization and Dakota Freese (Washington) has been released by the Oakland A's. Kellen Sweeney (Jefferson) was released by the Toronto organization last year.

SCOTT SCHEBLER (Prairie), Oklahoma City, OF, Triple-A, Pacific Coast League (Dodgers): Schebler went 1-for-4 Friday with an RBI and a run scored in a 6-5 victory over Round Rock. He hit sixth in the lineup and played right field. Schebler is hitting .125 (1-for-8) in two games.

CHAD CHRISTENSEN (Washington), Fort Myers, OF, High-A, Florida State League (Twins): Christensen went 1-for-4 Friday as Fort Myers blanked Charlotte, 3-0. He hit fourth in the lineup and played right field. Christensen is hitting .286 (2-for-7) in two games.

JON KELLER (Xavier), Frederick, P, High-A, Carolina League (Orioles): Keller pitched two innings in relief Friday and got the save in a 3-2 victory over Winston-Salem. He allowed two hits and one earned run, with two strikeouts and two walks. Keller has a 0-0 record and 4.50 ERA with one save.
