Doyle leads Kirkwood to golf title

WAVERLY - Eddie Doyle of Kirkwood fired a 4-under-par 68 Saturday and claimed medalist honors to help the Eagles win the Wartburg Spring Invitational at the Prairie Links Golf Course.

Doyle finished with a 36-hole total of 2-under 142.

Kirkwood trimmed Nebraska Wesleyan by two shots, 604 to 606, for the crown.

The Eagles had three other golfers in the top-10 with Blaine Buhr (4th), Dylan Daxon (6th) and Daniel Cutkomp (7th).

Tyler Gunderson finished 12th for Coe with a 157.
