Cedar Valley boys kick Pointers

Logan Crittenden scored on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute Monday to snap a 1-1 tie and give Cedar Valley Christian a 2-1 victory over Center Point-Urbana in a Tri-Rivers Conference boys soccer match at the Tuma Soccer Complex.

Brody Hayes was tripped inside the penalty box and Crittenden made the visitors pay.

Joey Philipp scored the first goal for Cedar Valley Christian in the 33rd minute, pulling the Huskies into a 1-1 tie. Colin Heeren made 13 saves for Cedar Valley.

Cedar Valley raised its record to 2-5.
