MUSCATINE - The Xavier Saints blanked Burlington Notre Dame, 5-0, in the quarterfinals of the girls Class 1A state tennis tournament in Muscatine Wednesday.

Allison Jasper clipped Stephanie Willis, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.

Claire Bouchard, Katie Neumeyer, Megan D'mello and Nina Marquardt also won their singles matches for the Saints.

Xavier advances to the semifinals of the Class 1A state tournament June 6 in Ankeny. Ballard and Waverly-Shell Rock also have reached the semifinals. LeMars plays Waterloo Columbus Thursday for the final spot.
