The Xavier Saints swept Waterloo East, 4-1 and 11-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader Monday at Ken Charipar Field.

The twin-killing lifted Xavier to 10-15 overall and 7-11 in the MVC.

Matt Callahan pitched a three-hitter for the Saints in the 4-1 victory. Nolan Arp had two hits.

Max Hammerberg tossed a one-hitter for Xavier in the 11-1 victory, which ended after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. Hammerberg collected nine strikeouts.

Connor Powers went 3-for-3 in the second game. Bryce Schulte had a bases-loaded triple and an RBI single for the Saints.

Waterloo East fell to 1-15 in the MVC and 3-26 overall.
