Brady Donohue pitched a five-hit shutout Monday night as the MarionĀ Indians blanked Independence, 5-0, in the first game of a Wamac Conference doubleheader at the Marion field.
Independence won the nightcap, 3-1.
Bobby Vanderlind had a double, triple and three RBIs for Marion in the first game. John Carstensen and Maverick Miller also had two hits.
Independence scored three runs with two outs in the fifth inning to win the second game. David Kuhn had a triple and two hits for Marion.
The split left Marion with a 23-16 record.
