Lindwall falls short at U.S. Junior Am

BLUFFTON, S.C. - Frank Lindwall of Cedar Rapids Washington made a strong showing at the U.S. Junior Amateur golf championships in South Carolina this week, but he barely missed advancing to the Round of 64 of match play.

Lindwall shot rounds of 77 and 73 for a 36-hole total of 6-over-par 150 at the Colleton River Plantation Club in Bluffton, S.C., to finish in a multiple tie for 60th place in the preliminary rounds in the international field. Sixty-four golfers advanced to match play, but Lindwall fell short on a tiebreaker.

Lindwall will be a junior at Washington this year.
