Kasey Semler and Taylor Olson have left the University of Northern Iowa basketball program due to lingering injuries.

Semler, a Marion High School graduate, had two ACL knee surgeries in 13 months and never fully recovered. Olson, a Cedar Rapids Jefferson grad, had surgery for a toe injury and never fully recovered.

Semler and Olson both played basketball at Kirkwood Community College before joining UNI as invited walk-ons. Both redshirted and neither played in a game for the Panthers. Semler is currently in graduate school at Northern Iowa.
