OSKALOOSA - Meg Monson's 8-over-par 79 led Mount Mercy to a fifth-place tie after the opening day of the William Penn Classic on Sunday at the Edmundson Golf Course.
The Mustangs shot 349 as a team, putting them in a fifth-place tie. Host William Penn leads after shooting a 307 on the first day.
William Penn's Demi Coertze leads the individual race, shooting a 3-over 74, giving her a two-shot lead over three other golfers.
The final round is scheduled for Monday.
