Usher, Wagemester lift Prairie girls

Olivia Usher and Jenna Wagemester scored 12 points apiece Tuesday night as the Cedar Rapids Prairie girls basketball team began the season with a 62-54 victory over Muscatine at home.

Sarah Schmitt contributed 10 points to the triumph.

Erin Oppel led Muscatine with 17 points.

MUSCATINE (54): Rusch 3 1-3 9, Butler 0 0-0 0, Kerr 0 0-0 0, Rogers 4 0-0 10, White 5 0-0 14, Hepker 0 2-4 2, Miller 0 0-0 0, Estabrook 0 0-0 0, Doyle 0 0-0 0, Torres 1 0-0 2, Oppel 8 1-3 17. Totals 21 4-10 54.
