OTTUMWA - The ninth-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team won both of its matches at the Indian Hills tournament Saturday in Ottumwa.

The Eagles topped Highland, 25-20, 25-14, 23-25, 25-18, and swept the William Penn junior varsity, 25-10, 25-11, 25-15.

Madsy Richards led Kirkwood against Highland with 16 kills. Erica Armstrong had 11 kills, Morgan Grimm eight kills, Alex Miner seven kills and Riley Longden six kills.

Caiti Peterson rolled up 49 assists against Highland. Jenna Laxton had 14 digs, Richards 12 digs and Grimm 10 digs. Armstrong blocked seven shots and Alex Miner had five blocks.

Alexa Whipple topped the Eagles with 11 kills against William Penn. Peterson had 22 assists, Margaret Micka had three service aces. Micka also had six digs.

Kirkwood raised its record to 27-7.
