Seybian Sims, a 6-foot-7 forward from Iowa City West, has decided to join the Kirkwood men's basketball team for the 2018-19 campaign.

Sims announced his commitment Monday on Twitter.

"Very thankful for everyone that has helped me get to where I am and where I am going," he remarked. "I also want to say thank-you to all the D1 and D2 schools that have been recruiting me."

Sims averaged 14.2 points and 6.7 rebounds this season for Iowa City West, which finished second at the Class 4A state tournament with a 21-5 record.

Remarkably, Sims connected on 148 of 194 shots this season for 76.3 percent from the floor and hit 69 percent of his free throws. He was named third team all-state in Class 4A.

Kirkwood also has received a commitment from Brady Sartorius, a 6-foot guard from Mount Pleasant who averaged 23.1 points, 4.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 3 steals this season. The Panthers reached the Class 3A state tournament and finished 21-4.

Sartorius was named first team all-state this past season.
