The Mount Mercy men's soccer team was defeated by Evangel, 4-3, in overtime Saturday in a Heart of America Conference match at the Plaster Athletic Complex.

The Mustangs owned a 3-2 lead late in the second half on goals by Souleymane Diallo, Rafael Passanha and Duarte Leite, but Evangel tied the match in the 85th minute and prevailed in the second minute of overtime.

Sarrive Rukakiza and Passanha collected assists for Mount Mercy.

The Mustangs fell to 6-5-3 overall and 2-5-1 in the conference. Evangel raised its records to 2-10-2 overall and 2-6 in the league.
