No. 4 Eagles take 101-94 thriller

FORT DODGE - All-American Doug Wilson poured in 32 points Wednesday night as the fourth-ranked Kirkwood Eagles topped Iowa Central, 101-94, in the ICCAC conference opener in Fort Dodge.

Devonte Thedford, who was Wilson's high school teammate at Des Moines Hoover, came off the bench to provide 19 points as the two Hoover grads combined for 51 markers.

Luke Apple finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Eagles (9-1, 1-0). Allante Pickens added 10 points.

Wilson, who led the nation in field-goal percentage last season, hit 13 of 19 shots from the floor. He was also 6 for 8 at the foul line and finished with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Kirkwood shot 36 of 67 from the field for 53.7 percent.

Kemryn Jenkins tossed in 26 points for Iowa Central (6-5, 0-1).
