Mustang volleyball splits 2 matches

PARKVILLE, Mo. - The Mount Mercy women's volleyball team split its  final two matches at the Park University tournament to finish the  event with a 2-2 record.

The Mustangs defeated Morningside, 25-16, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21, in  their first match Saturday. They were trimmed by Briar Cliff, 22-25,  21-25, 25-14, 25-22, 15-12, after winning the first two sets.

Andrew Colantone collected 38 assists, six digs and four blocks  against Morningside. Julian Armendano had 14 kills and four aces. Ben  Steffen finished with 10 kills and Nikola Stoimenov had eight kills.

Stoimenov rolled up 23 kills and five blocks against Briar Cliff.  Colantone had 47 assists. Evan Gaskill contributed 10 digs and Steffen  had six blocks for Mount Mercy (3-4).
