No. 5 KCC women top DMACC

BOONE - The fifth-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team remained in  a tie for the ICCAC conference lead Thursday night with a 76-63  victory over DMACC in Boone.

The Eagles raised their records to 23-6 overall and 13-1 in the  league, tied with second-ranked NIACC for first place in the  conference with two games left in the regular season.

Mackenzie Jenkins collected 15 points, four assists and four blocked  shots for Kirkwood. Haley Mullinnix hit four 3-pointers and scored 14  points.

Ju Gaston finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists and  four steals for the Eagles. Leah Robinson scored 10 points. Anasha  Hurst dished out eight assists.

DMACC fell to 14-12 overall and 9-4 in the conference.

KIRKWOOD (76): Bradford 3 0-0 7, Jenkins 7 0-0 15, Gaston 4 2-2 12,  Lipsey 1 0-0 2, Kennedy 0 0-0 0, Myers 0 0-0 0, Hurst 3 0-0 6,  Tomaszewski 4 0-0 8, Robinson 2 6-8 10, Mullinnix 5 0-0 14, Mensen 1  0-0 2. Totals 30 8-10 76.
