Mount Mercy men boot Iowa Wesleyan

The goals came in bunches for the Mount Mercy men's soccer team Saturday at the Plaster Athletic Complex.

Nolan Armstrong popped in three goals to help the Mustangs drub Iowa  Wesleyan, 9-1, in a non-conference match.

Kevin Kastl and Jonathan Scholes had two goals apiece. Nikola Petrovic  and Diego Lopez also scored for the Mustangs.

Kastl scored two straight goals in the first half to make it 3-0. Scholes collected back-to-back goals in the second half to make it 5-1  in favor of the home team.

Armstrong was a scoring machine in the last eight minutes of the match to finish the barrage. He scored at the 82:10 mark, tallied again at the 87:35 mark and found the net again as the 89th minute began.

Mount Mercy raised its record to 3-2. Iowa Wesleyan is winless in three matches.
